Gianni Riotta è Pirelli Visiting Professor alla Princeton University, dove si occupa di digital humanities, della storia sociale, visiva e dei dati dell’Italia, e di scrittura automatica. È il direttore del Master in Comunicazione e del Centro di Ricerca Datalab all’Università Luiss di Roma, dove coordina IDMO, il polo nazionale dell’European Digital Media Observatory (EDMO) e altri progetti di ricerca, in collaborazione con l’Università di Harvard e il Ministero degli Affari Esteri italiano. Fa anche parte dell’Advisory Board di NewsGuard e di EDMO. Editorialista per La Repubblica e Foreign Policy, Riotta è un membro permanente del Council on Foreign Relations, i suoi libri sono stati tradotti in molte lingue e i suoi articoli di opinione sono apparsi su The New York Times, Le Monde, The Financial Times, The Washington Post e altre pubblicazioni.
Gianni Riotta is the Pirelli Visiting Professor at Princeton University, focusing on digital humanities, the social, visual and data history of Italy, and machine writing. He is the Dean of the Master of Communication and Research Center Datalab at Luiss University, Rome where he coordinates IDMO, the national hub of the European Digital Media Observatory (EDMO) and other research projects, in partnership with Harvard University and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affair. He also serves in the Advisory Board NewsGuard and EDMO. A columnist for La Repubblica and Foreign Policy, Riotta is a permanent member of the Council on Foreign Relations, his books have been translated in many languages and his op ed articles have appeared in The New York Times, Le Monde, The Financial Times, The Washington Post and other publications.
