Marco Varvello è responsabile dell’ufficio di corrispondenza RAI per il Regno Unito. Laureato in Filosofia all’Università Cattolica di Milano. Ha cominciato l’attività giornalistica nei quotidiani La Notte e Il Giornale, allora diretto da Indro Montanelli. In RAI è stato conduttore del TG1 e curatore del programma di Enzo Biagi, Il Fatto. Al TG1 ha lavorato alla redazione economica, poi agli esteri. Inviato negli Stati Uniti, è stato a lungo corrispondente a Londra e a Berlino. Ha pubblicato quattro libri e vinto il premio “Foreign Press Awards” della stampa estera di Londra.
Marco Varvello is the UK Bureau Chief for RAI Italian Radio and Television. He holds a degree in philosophy, and started working as a journalist at the daily newspapers ‘La Notte’ and ‘Il giornale’ in Milan. In television he started in the regional office of RAI Lombardy, then moved to Rome where he anchored the news for TG1, and was curator of the daily magazine “Il Fatto”. Since 2014 he has been the UK Bureau Chief Correspondent for RAI Italian Television, based in London. He was previously the RAI chief correspondent in Germany based in Berlin (2006-2014), Junior Correspondent in London (1997-2005) and special Correspondent in the US, based in New York. He is the author of four books and has been awarded the “London Foreign Press Award 2018” for the best story in a foreign language about the UK.
